ASP, Javascript, Geekery … oh my!

Well, I have finished up the first round of bug fixes on a little project tracking database written in Classic ASP, utilizing Dojo AJAX hooked up with MySQL all on Windows - my favorite platform (note to self: must wash mouth out with soap).

As most anybody who knows me, they know I am not a Micro$oft fan boi, however I do what needs to be done, helping people out with a project they have already delved into.  I think it will end up being worlds better than the apps they were previously using, that’s really all that matters.  Happy customers, I would rather Raving Fans, however I only had ASP to work with…

I am also delving into a project using Ruby on Rails, interfacing with Ebay and keeping track of Ebay stores and auctions.  This ought to be a lot of fun actually.

And in addition to the development geekery, I also installed XFCE4 on my Ubuntu box, basically turns Ubuntu into Xubuntu.  XFCE is a lightweight environment for a GUI, desktop icons, menus, windows and the like.  I may work in this environment for a little while, because it looks simple, fresh and easy to use.  So that is what I will close with, I need to start getting tired here soon so I can get some sleep so I can get to work and do more data conversion!  (YAY, my f-a-v-o-r-i-t-e :-| )
