Today was quite the ‘Monday’, I stared at this one block of code for the whole day, trying to convince it to reveal all of it’s performance issue secrets that lay hidden behind many SQL queries, some mysteriously run slow, but not all of them. “Tell me your secrets” I mumble quietly at the screen…
As I am now recovering from the day, oh and butchering my Assembly class test. My OpenSolaris box still doesn’t want to boot OpenSolaris, so I am playing with Kubuntu Gusty, however I probably should be playing with xubuntu as that will probably the the most similar environment I’ll be running on my line of servers, but of course it will be the OpenSolaris/Nexenta base that I love so much - YAY for ZFS! Now all I need is more time to develop my software and integration approaches…
I also have to say that this new machine is a pretty nice piece of hotness, it is awesome. Its fast, got plenty of memory, the video (ATI) is nice enough for a desktop/server. 2 Gigs of Corsair XMS DDR2-800 RAM , its got the 65nm Brisbane core AMD64 x2 4000+, dual 2.13Ghz cores.
